Equador and the Galapagos!

In Ecquador we combined humanitarian work with a vacation. We gathered dental supplies for a clinic there. Each person took them in two suitcases. We had only a carry on for our own things. Yes, we did wear the same outfits a lot. When we arrived in Quito, Guerterro met us at the airport along with Dan's sister and brother-in-law Thomas and Kate. They had been teaching English in South America for the past 6 months. We could see them while waiting for customs and could hardly wait for a hug.

AtThe Cathedral Iglesia de San Francisco we rang the bells, climbed to the highest bell tower, and all over the gargoyles. We went places you could never go in America. Richard Gere toured at the same time as us. All Jorie could say at the top of her lungs was "Who's Richard Gere?

A bike ride from Banos took us to water falls, carts across gullies and bungee jumping!

Otavalo here we come and then shop till you drop.

Many women were tiny in Otavalo. This cutie was less than 4 feet tall.

Looking for the blue footed boobies the first day.

Me vegging at The Finch Bay Hotel - Prince Charles parked his yacht at our resort. The kids sure were impressed.

Here Jorie and I are on the taxi boat that drove us out to our hotel!
John & I scuba diving. We saw hammerhead sharks on a dive here! So cold but so worth it. CJ was so excited about all the fish he didn't pay attention to his air and had to go up sharing with me. Lucky I had air left.

Ice Cream! First semi-American thing we had eaten in a long time! Yahoo.

The beginning of the end.  Fam waiting for boat to take us off Santa Cruz to the airport island.

Last taxi boat ride...(on our way to the airport to depart)

Jorie and John relax as they wait to board the flight.
